What happens to the money I donate to OIA?
OIA is a not-for-profit (NFP) hobby writing site. Any money donated for the use of extra character accounts or just out of the kindness of your heart, is used to maintain the site. This includes host/server fees, storage upgrades and security measures. We also have a developer working behind the scenes to incorporate some cool automatic features, such as rewards, thread links and interactive profiles. None of the OIA Team earn any money writing or working here.

A not-for-profit (NFP) organisation is any society, association or group, which can be incorporated or unincorporated. The activities of the organisation are not carried on for the profit or gain of any member, and the rules of the organisation do not allow any money or property to be distributed to any member.
